Ms. Burrroughs was awarded the city of San Antonio's CAAP (Community Arts Access Program) grant for 2013 to perform her six character, 1-Act play "The Fever Sisters." The play is a intimate revelation of a family dealing with Alzheimer's. After their anger, tears and humor the family finally comes to terms with both the disease and their love for one another. This 45 minute production will be seen by area non-profit organizations with city funds from their local Council member.

Rebecca Burroughs’ offering for the 2013 Playwrites Playfest (Black Box-er Short) is “The Guessing Game.”  A delightful comedy in which a couple (Lindsay Van de Kirk and Evans Jarnefeldt) stops into a diner to confront a young man (Louis Valdez) whom they believe impregnated their teen-aged daughter.

Rebecca's 15 Minute play Putting Out Fires has been chosen one of the winners in the San Antonio Renaissance Guild's 2013 ActOne Series.  This short play is taken from her full-length play Year At Risk about a young English teacher who struggles to prevent burn-out in her high school ghetto class and for herself. Despite a shooting in the hall, the murder of a student's father, child abuse, robbery and much more the students maintain an heroic resilence and humor that inspires their teacher and Principal.
